Packaging:

TPU-188 is a two package catalyzed system, available in 1 gallon cans and 5 gallon pails. Both 1 and 5 gallon containers are short filled to accommodate tint and catalyst (bases) or catalyst only (standard colors). TPU-188 is sold as a "kit" part A (base compound), and part B (catalyst) are packaged separately.

Preparation:

For most applications requiring color, an epoxy basecoat or primer is preferred to obtain optimum adhesion to the surface. Surface to be coated should be clean, dry and have a profile similar to 180-220 girt sandpaper. On new cement overlays, no other preparation is necessary other than to insure the surface is clean, dry and contaminant free. Over stamped overlays, make sure all form release, and loose color release is removed from the surface. Overlays must be completely dry before coating.

Instructions for Use :

This is a two component system. Part A is pigmented and must be thoroughly mixed before the addition of the catalyst. The two components must be mixed in a ration of 4 parts (A) to part (B) - then mixed completely before application. If the temperature is below 50 F, it may be necessary to add solvents to obtain application viscosity. DO NOT APPLY when surface temperature is about 90 degrees F. lap marking and poor adhesion may result. This results in lower sag resistance, slower cure and thinner films. If thinning is required, add thinner after mixing the components. Very good mechanical mixing of base, catalyst and thinner is essential.

Application:

Application by conventional spray, or airless spray is recommended. May also be applied with a brush or roller. For roller application, use a 3/16" nap mohair cover with phenolic core, apply slowly to avoid air entrainment. Lightly back roll after 2-5 minutes to remove air bubbles caused by permanent displacement.
